The sense of speed is the best I have ever seen from an on-wheel racer, and the beautiful, well-designed tracks are a joy to race on. Fans of arcade racing games owe it to themselves to try this.. pretty good game. personally racing games arent for me but this is one that seriously surpassed my expectations. Simple but really nice sort-of future arcade racer. It's quite easy to have a decent route through a corner, but direct wall hits are quite punishing. It's almost a bit too simple - there's no jumps, no variations in road surface, no weapons and no wacky event types; just regular road races against the AI.Driving for the most part is fun and satisfying. Drifting is mandatory in this game - the normal steering is too sluggish to do anything but course-correct, even at low speed. Drifting also fills up your boost fuel, which encourages you to draw out your drifts as long as possible, like it's Mario Kart. The worst part of the drifting is that you spend half of every race hearing squealing tyre noises.The AI is pretty poor and often drives into walls, but thankfully I haven't noticed any catchup mechanic.Polish-wise the game is half fine and half terrible. The cars and environments are nicely designed and have plenty of thought put into them, but the texture size and polygon count are quite subpar. The English localisation has several slip-ups that make things sound really goofy, and the voice acting (though there's not much of it) is like it's off Fiverr. On the bright side the soundtrack is all Monstercat and really doesn't miss a beat. It's a pleasure to listen to.. Basic concepts and design of cars and maps are interesting but the concept of a car that can't turn in any way on races with a lot of sharp turns is incredibly frustrating. Additionally, the controls to drift are annoying, press too long it stops, not enough it doesn't start, goes to a close angle to straight you'll lose the drift. The difficulty curves also climb way too quickly.Also, the menu to customize your car are a pain in the ***, you always go back at the beginning of the menu when you go back. Finally, the loading (and the process) to restart a race are quite annoying.. So far so good reminds me of ridge racer a little :) takes a few laps to master the handling, what i would like to see though is a replay after the race and an option where you can select what music you want, drifting with boost should also give more boost would like to see that added, hope the devs see my post ^^. so hard. strong AI. stressful.
